Two Finalists Named for Supt. Position

The Fayetteville Board of Education voted to continue the interview process with Brian Binggeli and Vicki Thomas as part of the superintendent search process. The board interviewed six candidates last week.

Binggeli Photo.pngBrian Binggeli is currently an assistant superintendent in the Fairfax County Public Schools in Fairfax, VA, where he oversees 29 sites and 22,000 students. He has previously served as a middle and high school principal, middle school director, and executive director of curriculum & instruction. Binggeli received his doctorate from Virginia Tech in 2001. He also holds a masters degree in education from Virginia State University, and a bachelor's degree from Miami (OH) University.



Thomas Photo.pngVicki Thomas is currently a deputy superintendent for the Pasadena Independent School District in Pasadena, TX (enrollment: 51,388). She has spent the past 28 years in the Pasadena School District, serving as teacher, assistant principal, principal, and associate superintendent for campus planning and development. Thomas has her superintendent's certification from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. She also holds a masters degree in education from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas.

The two finalists will return to Fayetteville for additional interviews with the school board, as well as meetings with the district staff, parents, and patrons. Those dates and times will be announced ASAP.
