Participate in our Design Charette!

charrette.pngThe charette is a participatory design process structured around community engagement and building a design consensus. It is important for the public to develop shared goals and visions for the exterior design of the high school buildings and how they occupy the existing 40 acres. The Concordia Group of New Orleans will facilitate the charette process. For more information on Concordia, click here. Note that Concordia Group is not designing the new high school, but rather is helping to develop a design concept with which architects will work.

Note: if you can only attend one of the following events, try to attend the Community Congress on February 26th, 5:30 - 8:30 pm, at Fayetteville Town Center. More information below.

Public Visioning Meetings

These meetings will be held in the Judy Mackey Center, Bates Annex of FHS.

Wednesday February 25th, 10 - 11:30 am and 6 - 7:30 pm

Thursday February 26th, 1 - 2:30 pm

At these meetings, Concordia will go through the planning process, discuss different types of schools, talk about the challenges of the site, and the standards that are necessary to do the master plan for the school. This will also be an "open mic" night for community members to voice thoughts and concerns. Finally, they will explain what will be expected of the community during Thursday night's Community Congress.

Community Congress February 26th, 5:30 - 8:30 pm, Fayetteville Town Center

At this meeting, Concordia will confirm goals and strategies that have been developed over the previous two weeks, conduct participatory exercises, gather demographic information on attendees, and present and prioritize different ideas for the school.
