District Website Marks One Year

School Board Places 4.9 Mil Request on Ballot

vote.pngThe Fayetteville School Board voted 6-0 to place a 4.9 millage increase request on the September 15 school election ballot for the construction of a new Fayetteville High School, based on master plan #2, which was recommended by the administration.

Annual Report Wins Award of Excellence

07-08_Annual_Report.png"Wow! What a Year!," the 2007-08 annual report for the Fayetteville School District has received an Award of Excellence from the National School Public Relations Association. The Award of Excellence is the top award given in the Publications and Electronic Media category.

Inactive Spec. Ed. Records to be Destroyed

iStock_shredder.pngThe Special Education Department of the Fayetteville School District will be destroying inactive special education records that are over 5 years old.  If you or your child received special education services and were dismissed from services, moved away from Fayetteville, or graduated during the 2003-2004 school year and you would like copies of your inactive special education records, please contact Debbie Strange or Angela Carney in the Special Services office at 479-444-3000 before July 1, 2009.

Diplomas and Transcripts Ready on June 16

graduate.pngTranscripts and diplomas for the FHS Class of 2009 will be ready for pickup on Tuesday, June 16 at the FHS offices. Office hours are 9 am to 3 pm.

Recent Graduates Talk About Improving FHS

New Principals Named at Owl Creek & Root

The Fayetteville Board of Education approved the recommendation to name two new principals for the 2009-2010 school year.

Scanlon.pngKristen Scanlon will be the principal at Owl Creek School on July 1. She is currently the Federal programs coordinator for the district. She has also served as professional development coordinator, math fellow, and as a classroom teacher. She is replacing James Lewis, who resigned earlier this year.








Mrs. Moore-1.pngRhonda Moore will be the principal at Root Elementary School on July 1. She is currently the interim principal at Owl Creek School, and she has formerly served as assistant principal at Owl Creek and as a 5th grade teacher at Root. She is replacing Faye Jones, who is retiring on June 30 after serving the Fayetteville School District since 1970. 

15 FHS Seniors Tabbed for All-Star Events

bulldog small.pngFifteen FHS seniors have been selected to participate in the 2009 Arkansas All-Star events that will be held in Fayetteville during the week of June 22-27.

Those selected include Adam Baker and Franco Broyles in baseball, Fred Gulley and Cable Hogue in basketball, Elizabeth Nagel and Kourtni Williams in basketball, Jessica Potter and Katherine Watkins in cheer, Ashley Calhoun and Rachel Powell in dance, Cody Hammer in football, Elizabeth Brady and Brooke Overbey in soccer, Amanda Summerford in softball, and Cassie Clarke in volleyball.
