The award recognized an FHS teen driver safety education campaign conducted in the 2009-2010 school year as among the 'best of the best' in the U.S.

As a leader school FHS has received a $2,500 grant to continue its safety campaign, "It Just Takes a Second", in Fayetteville for the 2010-11 school year.

The formal check presentation was made October 29 at Harmon Field before the FHS v. Springdale Har-Ber football game.

Fayetteville was one of 11 schools nationwide, named as leader schools in the nation.  The $2,500 grant will help expand the FHS students campaign in the current school year.

The Project Ignition national competition is sponsored by the National Youth Leadership Council and State Farm Insurance. Fayetteville agents Brad Scott and Alex Baldwin made the presentation for State Farm.
