The new pressbox and concession area will be a memorial to Beau Spencer and Forrest Turner, two FHS athletes who were killed following the 2009 ice storm.

The total cost of the project is approximately $90,000, and donations can be sent to  Coach Vance Arnold, Fayetteville High School, 1001 West Stone St., Fayetteville, AR  72701. Arnold said the plan is to have the project completed and ready to dedicate at the Bulldogs first home game in March of 2011.
"Walmart is committed to giving back to the communities we serve and is proud to support the local baseball program, the student athletes, and their families. We know how much this memorial project means to this community," said Walmart Market Manager Paula Ginnett.
"Tyson Foods has a history of supporting schools in our plant communities, and this donation is an example of our commitment," said Archie Schaffer, executive vice president of Corporate Affairs. "We're pleased our donation will benefit the students and families involved in Fayetteville's baseball program."

The FHS Baseball program is one of the most successful athletic programs in the state. The Bulldogs have won state championships in 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. The Bulldogs have played in the state championship game in six of the past eight years, winning the title five times.
