are you gonna be running buses at their regulat scheduled times for this saturday school...which by the way i think is a crock...you should have them go to school over spring break since they basically already had a spring break...but anyway...are the buses running at regular times for saturday school...

Yes, buses will run, and it will be a full day of school. We understand that there are events previously scheduled that day. As is the case with any school absence, parents must notify the school that the student will be absent and give the reason for the absence to make sure the absence will be excused.

"One of the snow make-up days?" So I take it there will be more than this one Saturday?

No, Saturday, March 5 will be the only Saturday used as a snow make-up day.

We already have a previous commitment which was scheduled several months ago. I think it is unrealistic to expect a decent percentage of students to be in attendance with less than a month of notice. Mine sure won't be there.

Sir: Our organization puts on the local Fat Saturday Parade every year on the Saturday before Mardi Gras. This is a major family & child oriented event that has been on the Fayetteville calendar for months. The parade itself begins at 3PM & the rules that we have to follow for our city event permissions preclude, to the best of my knowledge, any possibility of our changing the start time even by a few minutes. This event is attended annually by thousands of your students &
I feel that it will be a shame if they are to be unable to attend this year due to an overlap of such a short period of time. If they were to be let out at 2 or even 2:30 this problem would be solved for everyone. I do understand the importance of making up lost time at school as well as the scheduling difficulties that you must surely run into & I mean no disrespect. Thank you for your time and consideration, Dixie Rhyne, President Committee For Mardi Gras, Inc.
