"Healthy Dinner on a Budget" Family Cooking Class
Monday, March 14 from 6:00-7:30 pm
Owl Creek School Cafeteria: 375 North Rupple Road

DETAILS: Apple Seeds, Inc. in partnership with Fayetteville Public Schools will host a free cooking class for families of Owl Creek and the surrounding community. This class will be led by Chef Tuesday Eastlack, a Culinary Arts instructor at NWACC. Chef Eastlack has 30 years experience as an executive chef and recently taught culinary classes at Fayetteville High School. She will create a simple, healthy meal that is budget-friendly. After the class, samples of the dinner will be served. All participants will also receive recipes and resources to help them prepare inexpensive, healthy meals at home.

This cooking class is the 2nd in a series to be held at area schools this year. The 3rd class will be held on March 29 at Leverett Elementary. Other classes will be held at Root and Asbell Elementary Schools throughout Spring 2011.

All healthy cooking classes are open to the public. Families and community members of Northwest Arkansas are encouraged to attend any or all of the classes offered. Representatives of the press are welcome to attend.

This event is sponsored by the Coordinated School Health Committee of Fayetteville Public Schools and is made possible by a grant from the Arkansas Department of Education.
