Healthy Dinner on a Budget Family Cooking Class

WHEN: Thursday, February 23rd 2012 from 5:30-7:00 pm

WHERE:   Owl Creek School Cafeteria: 375 North Rupple Road  Fayetteville, AR 72704

DETAILS: Apple Seeds, Inc. in partnership with Fayetteville Public Schools and Feed Fayetteville will host a free cooking class for families of Owl Creek School and the surrounding community.  This class will be led by Chef Adam Simmons, a Culinary Arts instructor at NWACC and FPS Child Nutrition Director and David Lewis, Executive Chef and owner of Brick House Kitchen and Brick House Kafe. The Chefs will create a simple, healthy meal that is budget-friendly, healthy and festive for Mardi Gras. After the class, samples of the dinner will be served.  All participants will receive recipes and resources to help them prepare inexpensive, healthy meals at home.  

This cooking class is the second of its kind to be held at area schools this year.  The class is being funded by the 21st Century Grant received by Owl Creek School to fund after school programming.

All healthy cooking classes are open to the public.  Families and community members of Northwest Arkansas are encouraged to attend any or all of the classes offered.  Representatives of the media are welcome to attend.
