The Arkansas Department of Education
(ADE), in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Health, is traveling
around the state visiting schools who have received school based health center
(SBHC) funding to get first-hand experience of the school based health centers
implemented in districts across the state. The ADE Communication Team is
tagging along to get footage of the centers and firsthand knowledge of what
district administrators, partners, staff, parents and students think about the
center and how it can benefit the school and community.
The team will visit the FPS Wellness & Education Clinic later this semester. The video footage accumulated throughout the tour will be compiled into a 10 to 15 minute video. The video will be used at the local, state, and national level to promote Arkansas State funding for these centers, as well as to spotlight the school districts that are laying the groundwork in our state for implementing these types of centers.
This project is supported in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Education and the Arkansas Department of Health and funded by the Tobacco Excise Tax created by Act 180 of 2009. The intent is to spotlight what Arkansas is doing to increase preventative health screenings.
