FPS Students Fare Well In State Science Fair

sciencecool.pngStudents from Ramay Jr. High and Fayetteville High School competed in the 2013 Southwestern Energy State Science and Engineering Fair held at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway on March 31 and April 1. Fayetteville brought home numerous awards including third place for Best in State, just behind The Arkansas School for Math, Science, and the Arts and Little Rock Central High School. Additional individual winners were the following:

  • Elizabeth Spicer, 3rd Place, Best in State
  • Kendall Coats, 1st place, Behavioral/Social Science
  • Saxyam Gautam, 3rd place, Biochemistry
  • Elijah Linn, 3rd place, Mathematical Sciences
  • Michelle Qui, 4th place, Animal Science
  • Edward Sebastian, 4th place, Animal Science
  • Justin McClure, 4th place, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Zach Renfro, 4th place, Environmental Sciences
  • Kate Truitt, 4th place, Mathematical Sciences
  • Tierin Burrow, 4th place, Plant Sciences
  • Shebly Carney and Sarah Rechtin, 4th place, Team Projects

Elizabeth Spicer, as the first place winner of the Northwest Arkansas Regional Science and Engineering Fair held in February, will travel to Phoenix, Arizona in May to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair.
