Connotations Named All Arkansas, Staff Wins Multiple Awards

Connotations XXIXsmall.pngConnotations, the award-winning student literary magazine at Fayetteville High School, won the All-Arkansas Award at the 2013 Arkansas Scholastic Press Association convention in Rogers on April 18-19. The magazine also won the ASPA Award for General Excellence and Best in Theme Development. Connotations was the only student literary magazine to receive the 2013 All-Arkansas Award.

Individual awards went to:
  • Natasha Raezer: First place on site writing for essay/Superior Literary Magazine Short Poem
  • Joey Largent: First place on site short story writing
  • Michelle Qiu: Second place on site personal narrative
  • Kaylin Dunn: Second place on site computer generated design
  • Sarah Huang: Superior Short Story and Long Poem/ Best of ASPA
  • Carlin Purcell: Superior Essay/ Best of ASPA
  • Greenley Littlejohn: Superior Poem/ Best ASPA
  • Jeanie Hall: Superior Art/ Best of ASPA
  • Sam Borgstadt: Superior Photo/ Best of ASPA
  • Kaitlyn Hurlbut: Superior Feature/ Best of ASPA
  • Joel Freeman: Superior in Design/Superior Longer Poem
  • Brenna Collins: Superior Poem
  • Jackson Bates: Superior Shor,t Poem
  • Jesse Clark: Honorable Mention, Short Story
