Happy Hollow and Holcomb Recognized for Academic Growth

APSRC Logo-4 color process.pngHappy Hollow and Holcomb Elementary Schools were recognized by the Arkansas Public School Resource Center for receiving the School Academic Growth Awards. These awards are based on achievement data generated by the Measures of Academic Progress from the North West Evaluation Association (NWEA). The award is given annually to two outstanding districts and schools that provide evidence that over 60% of their students show growth in academic achievement.

Both schools  received $3,000 with their awards that are sponsored through a grant by the Walton Family Foundation. The announcement was made at the association's fall conference in Hot Springs.

Ramay Principals Invited to Attend National Leadership Training

Ramay_Logo.pngRamay principal Matt Saferite and assistant principal Lori Linam were among 30 principals and school leaders invited to attend the inaugural National Association of Secondary School Principals and US Army Leadership and Professional Development Symposium.

The school leaders spent November 13-15 at the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, located outside of Kansas City, MO, exploring US Army best practices in leadership development as it applies to their role as civilian education leaders preparing today's students to be college, career and citizenship ready.

FHS Girls Win State Cross Country Title

CC2013-1.pngCongratulations to the FHS girls cross country team for winning the 2013 7A state championship on Saturday, November 9. This is the Lady Bulldogs first cross country state title since 2001, and it is their 10th state championship since 1960. Click here to see a team photo.

Girshner Honored by Choral Directors Association

Three FPS Schools Receive High Achieving Award

UA_Logo_large.pngThe Office for Education Policy at the University of Arkansas has given a High-Achieving Schools award to Owl Creek School, Woodland Jr. High, and Fayetteville High School for student performance on Benchmark and End of Course exams. The High-Achieving Schools awards recognize the highest-performing schools in Arkansas.
