Kindergarten Registration for 2014-15 School Year

Kindergarten registration for the 2014-15 school year will be held on Thursday, April 3 from 8 am to 6 pm at your child's elementary school. Online registration will be available starting March 27. Click here to access online registration on March 27.

Online registration will be accessible through any electronic device that has Internet access. Access will also available at the Fayetteville Public Library.

Your child must be five years of age by August 1, 2014 to enroll in kindergarten for the 2014-15 school year.

TO COMPLETE YOUR REGISTRATION, parents should bring the following items to school on Thursday, April 3:

  • Current proof of residence (utility bill or rental agreement)
  • State birth certificate
  • Immunization record
  • Social Security card
  • NOTE: a physical exam is required within 90 days of enrollment.

State Board Approves Request to Waive Two Snow Days

squirrel-snow-day.pngThe Arkansas Department of Education has approved our request to waive two of our 13 snow days. The last day for students in schools on the traditional calendar will now be Friday, June 6. Students will attend school on Saturday, May 3 and Memorial Day to makeup snow days.

The last day for students at Asbell and Happy Hollow Elementary Schools will now be Friday, June 13. Students at Asbell and Happy Hollow will not attend school on Saturday, May 3 and Memorial Day as their snow makeup days will occur during their Intersession weeks.

23 FHS Junior Selected to Attend Governor's School

arkgovschool.pngTwenty-three students from Fayetteville High School have been selected to attend the 2014 Arkansas Governor's School hosted at Hendrix College. One student has been selected as an alternate. Those selected to attend (and their area of study) are:

  • Samantha Doss (math)
  • Chidubem Egbosimba (natural science)
  • Oliver Fowler (math)
  • Saxyam Gautam (visual arts)

  • Melissa McCann (visual arts)
  • Alexander Mueller (math)
  • Chioma Okoroafor (natural science)
  • Carly Page (English/language arts)
  • Matt Parisi (natural science)

  • Catherine Pinter (drama)
  • Michelle Qui (natural science)
  • Joshua Sadinsky (instrumental music)

Selection for Governor's School is based on a combination of ability and interest and is
highly competitive. The six-week intensive program is in its thirty-fifth year.

ALLPS Program Named Exemplary In Arkansas

The ALLPS (Agee-Lierly Life Preparation Services) program was honored as an exemplary alternative education program by the State of Arkansas last week during Alternative Education Leadership Day at the State Capitol. Congrats to ALLPS director Jon Gheen and his staff for their outstanding work!
