FHS Senior Named National Award Winner

Borgstadt_Cole copy.pngFAYETTEVILLE, ARK.--Fayetteville High School senior Cole Borgstadt has been named as one of 40 National YoungArts Foundation in Cinematic Arts Merit Winners. Borgstadt has now been invited to attend a week-long conference in either New York City or Los Angeles where he will have the opportunity to meet and network with industry professionals.

The National YoungArts Foundation identifies and supports the next generation of artists in the visual, literary, design and performing arts; assists them at critical junctures in their educational and professional development; and raises appreciation for the arts in American society. YoungArts winners represent a dynamic group of artists who go on to become leading professional in their fields. Alumni are Oscar, Grammy, Emmy and Tony award nominees. They dance with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and the New York City Ballet, and play in the Chicago Symphony and New York Philharmonic Orchestras. Their work appears on the New York Times bestseller list, at The Museum of Modern Art, and in the Sundance Film Festival.

YoungArts Alumni include actresses Vanessa Williams, Viola Davis and Kerry Washington; four-time Tony Award nominee Raúl Esparza; Executive Director of American Ballet Theater Rachel Moore; recording artists Nicki Minaj and Chris Young; musicians Terence Blanchard, Eric Owens, and Jennifer Koh; choreographer Desmond Richardson; and internationally acclaimed multimedia artist Doug Aitken.
