Volunteers Help Make Butterfield Carnival a Great Success

IMG_0158.pngThe Butterfield Trail Elementary PTO would like to recognize some OUTSTANDING Fayetteville Public School volunteers.

On Friday, October 29th, along with countless Butterfield teachers and staff members, 125 junior high and high school student volunteers turned out to support the families of Butterfield Trail Elementary by working the Annual BTE Fall Carnival.  Butterfield families were able to enjoy the night together as student volunteers managed the Carnival's 25 games and took charge of the Food Court. Carnival is a huge event and takes countless service hours to coordinate and manage. What an impressive volunteer spirit there is in the Fayetteville Public Schools!  Students and teachers from Fayetteville High School, Woodland Junior High, and Ramay Junior High volunteered along with the following teams and civic groups:

  • FHS VolleyDawgs - Coach Jessica Phelan
  • FHS Swim Team - Coach Luke Adams
  • FHS Service Learning - Ms. Connie Crisp
  • Woodland GT & FCA - Ms. Lindsey Asbury
  • Woodland Girl's Basketball - Coach Marilyn Bauer
  • Ramay 8th and 9th Grade Students -  Ms. Cindy Caudle

The Butterfield Trail Elementary PTO extends our gratitude and appreciation to all those that made our carnival such a happy and joyful success!

Statement from Vicki Thomas, superintendent:

On behalf of the Fayetteville School District, I would like to thank the hundreds of volunteers for the thousands of hours they contributed toward the millage election. While we are disappointed in the outcome, we are encouraged by the tremendous voter turnout. Fayetteville has always and will always make the education of children its first priority. We have heard from many of our patrons who still believe Fayetteville needs a new high school, and we will continue to work diligently to make that a reality for our students and the community.

Special thanks go to Missy Kincaid and Fred Vorsanger, the co-chairs of the campaign, and to our school board members, principals, parents, teachers, and central office staff who worked so tirelessly in this election. Regardless of the outcome, you gave it your all, and, for that, we are indebted to you.
