Did you catch Alan's post about the Adams 50 school district in Denver?  In an attempt to improve its students' performance, the district is dropping grade levels as part of an innovative approach to restructuring its curriculum.

Fayetteville Public Schools are looking at building a stronger curriculum for the 21st century as part of Project 21c.  To that end, the district is considering a number of imaginative approaches to teaching.

Earlier this month, the district held three community reads to discuss The Global Achievement Gap by Dr. Tony Wagner.  Dr. Wagner himself addressed the community in an event last night at the Fayetteville Town Center.

Did you attend one of the community reads or last night's event?  Have you read Dr. Wagner's book?  Have you visited the Project 21c pages?  If so, let us hear from you in the comments below.  Whether you have comments regarding any of the events, the book, a different book you'd like to recommend--whatever--let your voice be heard.

More than fifty people helped make last night's community read a success. Sincere thanks to all who attended the event.

Did you attend last night's community read at the Fayetteville Public Library?  If so, please take a moment to share your thoughts regarding the event in the comments below.

Also:  If you missed last night, you have two more opportunities to attend.  The second community read takes place tonight at the Fayetteville Public Library from 6:00 to 7:00.  A third community read will be held Thursday afternoon at the library from 1:00 to 2:00.

open.jpgAs part of our continuing effort to drive conversation in the community, we plan to occasionally post an "open line" for our readers to share their thoughts about certain topics in the comments.

The future of Fayetteville High School remains an important topic for everyone in our community.  We thought today we'd ask our readers to describe their ideal school facilities.  No idea is too crazy.
