Phase 2 of the Fayetteville High School transformation project be
financed with $31,460,000 in zero-interest bonds and $19,540,000 in
traditional bonds. To pay for the bonds, the district will ask for a
2.75 mill increase request be placed on the September 21 school
election ballot.

Chief financial officer Dr. Lisa Morstad noted that the use of the
zero-interest bonds and a financing plan will allow the district to
save $29,000,000 in costs on the project. She added that the
zero-interest bonds will mature in approximately fifteen years, instead
of the traditional 30 years.

Architects Jim French and Marlon Blackwell explained the floorplan of
Phase 2 to the Board, which will include almostly exclusively academic
spaces.
